How to get in, install, and find your way around the game modes, ranks, stats, memberships, skins and friends.

Getting In

Access is by invite. Join our Discord and start the join check there. It looks at your public Steam profile and your rank. Once you pass, our bot sends you your own invite code in a direct message. The code only works for your Steam account.

Install

Check our downloads channel and get our installer there. Use that to install everything. Please don't download it from anyone else: our Discord is the only trusted source.

You'll also need Counter-Strike: Global Offensive added to your Steam library first. You don't need to install it - just having it in your library is enough, there's nothing else to do with it.

The default install location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Continued Strike. You can pick a different folder or drive in the installer.

You need Windows 10 or 11. The game is always started from the Continued Strike app, never on its own, and the Continued Strike anti-cheat has to be running while you play.

Setting Up Your Account

Open the Continued Strike app, sign in with Steam and go to the sign-up section. Enter the invite code our Discord bot sent you and pick your Continued Strike name. Your first name is free. If a friend or a creator gave you their code, you can enter it here too.

Rank Skill Rating Distribution

Every player starts at a base score of 1000. Placement matches move your rating 1.5 times as much as normal ones, to get you to the right rank faster. The same bands are used for Competitive and Wingman.

Game Modes

Competitive 5v5 is the main ranked mode. Search alone or in a party. Teams are balanced by skill and parties stay together.

Wingman 2v2 has its own queue for solo players and pairs, with its own map list. It has its own rating, its own 10 placement matches and its own leaderboard, completely separate from 5v5.

Continued League is for teams. Make or join a team in the app, party up with five of your team and search. Results count for your team's league points on the league table. League matches don't change your 5v5 rating and don't use up placement matches.

Installer Problems

Not enough space. The installer downloads to the drive you picked, not your C drive, and tells you how much space it needs before it starts. Free up that much on that drive and press install again.

The download stops or is slow. Downloads carry on from where they stopped. Use Pause and Resume, or just start the installer again.

Files go missing or the game won't start. Some antivirus programs remove files while they are being unpacked. Add the Continued Strike folder to your antivirus as a trusted folder, then open the installer and press Check and fix files.

If none of that helps, the installer can send a problem report to staff in one click. It gives you a reference code to quote in a Discord ticket.

Getting Started (Website)

Continued Strike uses Steam for sign-in — click Login/Register and continue with your Steam account. We only ever receive your Steam ID, display name, and profile picture; we never see or store your password.

The website uses the same approved accounts as the app. If you sign in here and are told you don't have access, apply in Discord first.

Understanding Ranks and Rating

Competitive and Wingman each have their own skill rating. Win to climb, lose and you drop. You're matched with players near your rating. Your rating and rank stay hidden until you have played 10 placement matches in that mode, and placement matches don't show how much your rating moved.

Your kills, deaths, damage, headshots and rating change are recorded after every match. The Leaderboard has a tab for each mode, and your Profile's Match History tab lists your recent games, map by map.

Stats and Highlight Clips

The Stats page in the app is built from the recordings of your matches. It shows your overall numbers, compares you with players of your own rank or with everyone, and gives pointers on what to work on. Open any match in your history to see its own breakdown.

The game also records each match on your own PC, so you can watch it back. You can switch this off in the app's settings. The highlight clip feature, which turns your best moment of a match into a video, is for Supporter and Supporter+ members.

Memberships

Everyone gets in-application rewards when they play. Supporter and Supporter+ are optional paid memberships. Both give you access to the highlight clip feature and more in-application rewards when you play, and Supporter+ gives more than Supporter.

Every player has the same daily limit on rewards. Type !drops in the game chat to see how many you have had today. The Shop page has the prices, and the Terms of Service cover payments, refunds, chargebacks and what lifetime means.

Skins Database & Inventory

Every skin in your inventory is searchable in the Skins Database by exact float, pattern, and StatTrak™ — it's the same live data the app uses.

You can trade items with other players on the Trades page in the app. Items are for use inside Continued Strike only and can't be sold for real money.

Friends & Live Chat

Add friends and message them from the Friends and Chat pages. It's the same friends list as the app, so it works in both places.
